THE SCOTTISH WORD OF THE DAY

Today we are going to learn some terms related with a beautiful Scottish city called Aberdeen.

Aberdeen Angus. It´s a breed of black hornless beefcattle originally bred in Aberdeenshire and Angus.

Aberdeenshire (ab-er-dean-sher or ab-er-dean-shire). Aberdeen is a historic county in Northeast Scotland. It is now the name of a council area encompassing the old county (except for the city of Aberdeen) plus Kincardine and most of Banff.

Aberdonian. An Aberdonian is a person from Aberdeen. The dialect of Scots spoken un Aberdeen is also called in this way. Something which is Aberdonian comes from, or is typical of Aberdeen, for sure.
